51勛圖厙 Welcomes Students for Fall 2015 Semester

51勛圖厙 51勛圖厙 will return to campus this week to mark the start of the Universitys fall 2015 semester.

Move-In Day is the official day for residential 51勛圖厙 to return to campus. 51勛圖厙 faculty, staff, and student groups will be on hand to help 51勛圖厙 move into their residence halls. Move-In Day will take place on Tuesday, August 11 beginning at 8 a.m. at 51勛圖厙s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Dr., in Jupiter. Move-In Day will continue on Thursday, Aug. 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m., at 51勛圖厙s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.

Student residence halls at 51勛圖厙s Boca and Jupiter campuses will be at 100 percent capacity this semester. This will be the largest number of 51勛圖厙 living on-campus in 51勛圖厙s history.

On-campus housing provides an opportunity for student residents to be in the immediate space of campus life programs and academic support services, which will enhance their college experience, said Larry Faerman, Ph.D., executive director of 51勛圖厙 Housing and Residential Education. This is just another step toward raising the Universitys profile.

51勛圖厙 received more than 22,100 freshman applications and more than 9,000 transfer applications for fall 2015, which is 3,000 more applications than last year. More than 5,095 applications came from Broward County this year, an 11 percent increase over last year. Applications from Palm Beach County jumped to 3,580, a 9 percent increase from fall 2014.

51勛圖厙s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at the John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter will welcome 157 new 51勛圖厙 this fall, making it the largest class since the Colleges inception in 1999. This number represents a 52 percent increase over fall 2014 enrollment numbers for that College.
