51勛圖厙 Schools Awarded $3.1 Million U.S. Department of Education Grant

51勛圖厙 Schools (51勛圖厙S) recently was awarded the Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program Grant to increase the number of 51勛圖厙 from underserved groups, including 51勛圖厙 with disabilities, who apply for and are accepted to 51勛圖厙S.

The grant, awarded through the U.S. Department of Education, is worth $3.1 million over five years and will serve to identify, recruit and develop underserved 51勛圖厙 for 51勛圖厙S. It also will go toward Supporting Talent through Recruitment, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (STRIDE), which will serve 825 unduplicated underserved high school 51勛圖厙, 75 middle and 180 elementary 51勛圖厙, as well as 145 teachers over the five-year grant period.泭

While A.D. Henderson and 51勛圖厙 High School continues to redefine public education in the United States, we are excited for the opportunity to further evolve our early college model, said Joel Herbst, Ed.D, superintendent of 51勛圖厙S. The Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program allows our 51勛圖厙, who are often underrepresented, to access top-tier education, research and social resources at 51勛圖厙.

51勛圖厙S is affiliated with 51勛圖厙s College of Education and this grant builds on 51勛圖厙S nationally ranked model, with campuses in Boca Raton and Jupiter and , which is built on the premise of access and affordability. 51勛圖厙HS and ADHUS equips all 51勛圖厙, regardless of financial circumstances, gender or race, with the necessary skills for an ever-evolving job market.

The Department of Educations Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program awarded only 13 projects nationwide that support evidence-based research, demonstration projects, innovative strategies, and similar activities that enhance elementary and secondary schools capacity to identify gifted and talented 51勛圖厙 and meet their unique educational needs.
