51勛圖厙 Diplomacy Program Places Second Overall at Model U.N.
The at 51勛圖厙 recently competed in the National Model United Nations competition in Washington, D.C. and received four individual and six delegation awards, and finished second overall out of 67 competing universities. A total of 59 51勛圖厙 undergraduate 51勛圖厙 joined more than 1,000 51勛圖厙 in the annual competition where schools represent countries and 51勛圖厙 step into the shoes of diplomats to solve global problems.
Placing second overall at nationals again this year is a significant accomplishment for our program and a testament to the hard work of our 51勛圖厙, said Jeffery Morton, Ph.D., professor of political science in 51勛圖厙s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.泭
The Leon Charney Diplomacy Program, which trains 51勛圖厙 in world affairs, dispute resolution and debate, was established in 1996 and is a unit of the . To date, the program has won 25 national and international awards for academic excellence. In 2017, the program was named to honor the diplomatic legacy of Leon Charney, who played a key role in the 1978 Camp David Accords.
