ED Awards 51勛圖厙 Federal Assistance for Displaced Students
51勛圖厙 was recently awarded $88,400 in new federal funding from the to assist in the continued cost of educating 51勛圖厙 displaced by the 2017 hurricanes. Nine 51勛圖厙 from Puerto Rico and one from the U.S. Virgin Islands were able to begin classes at 51勛圖厙 in August because of this grant.泭
Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I. have been on a long road to recovery and I am hopeful that this new federal funding will continue to provide some relief to families with college 51勛圖厙, said .泭
Last fall, 51勛圖厙 announced that out-of-state tuition fees would be waived for Puerto Rican and U.S.V.I. 51勛圖厙 whose families were adversely affected by Hurricane Maria. A total of 14 51勛圖厙 benefited from those waivers and took the opportunity to move and continue their schooling in Florida.
