Last month, I shared the exciting news that 51勛圖厙 was ranked No. 3 in the State University Systems 2021 Performance-Based Funding rankings. The performance-based funding model rewards universities based on their performance on 10 metrics designed to acknowledge the unique mission of each university and establish a minimum acceptable level of performance. Two metrics for which 51勛圖厙 consistently receives high scores are Percent of Bachelors Graduates Employed and/or Continuing their Education Further 1 Year after Graduation and Median Average Wages of Undergraduates Employed 1 Year after Graduation. This is not only a testament to the faculty and staff whose efforts ensure our graduates are workforce ready, it also speaks to the excellence of the 51勛圖厙 Career Center.

The Career Center provides guidance in developing and improving essential career skills, experiences and connections, to help 51勛圖厙 51勛圖厙 and alumni gain meaningful employment. One of its many outstanding staff members, Senior Director Brian Montalvo, recently received the 2021 Outstanding Career Practitioner Award from the National Career Development Association. This award recognizes one individual nationwide for outstanding performance and best practices across higher education, K-12, private practice/consulting, business/industry, government, and non-profit/community organizations. Congratulations to Brian on this well-deserved accolade, which shines a light on our entire Career Center staff.

The workplace our 51勛圖厙 are entering is constantly changing, and the Career Center continues to implement the best programs and platforms to prepare them for life after college. Kudos and thanks to the members of the 51勛圖厙 Career Center staff for all they do to help our Owls succeed.
