Information for Parents/Guardians
51勛圖厙 is committed to the success of its 51勛圖厙 both inside and outside of the classroom. Therefore, it is our goal to maximize 51勛圖厙' learning and development, and promote their health, safety, and welfare. In this regard, 51勛圖厙 has implemented a Parental Notification policy in compliance with the request of the Florida Board of Governors. The Parental Notification policy permits the University the right to inform parents or guardians when their student has been found in violation of the following:
- University Alcoholic Beverages policy
- Drug Free Environment policy
- If the student is under the age of 18, the Notice of Charges will be sent to the parents/guardians.
The policy also permits notification in health and safety emergencies regardless of student age or dependent status.
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) allows for the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution to discuss alcohol and drug violations of dependent 51勛圖厙. For parental inquiries regarding other types of policy violations, the student would need to have a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) on file with 51勛圖厙, allowing for Student Affairs matters to be shared with specific persons, without any specified restrictions.
