EDF 2910 Multidisciplinary Introduction to Research

This course provides 51³Ô¹ÏÍø an introduction to research in a variety of disciplines. It is inclusive of multiple disciplines and methodologies, as opposed to a comprehensive survey, and will cover material that is both common to research in all disciplines and specific to the 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪ research interests. Over the course of the semester, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will not only begin to build basic research knowledge and skills common to all disciplines, but they will also begin to hone their own research interests.

EDF 2911 Multidisciplinary Research Methods 1

This course allows 51³Ô¹ÏÍø to build common research skills and receive guidance in finding a faculty research mentor. It is inclusive of multiple disciplines and methodologies, as opposed to a comprehensive survey, and will cover material that is both common to research in all disciplines and specific to the 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪ research interests. Over the course of the semester, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will begin to build basic research knowledge and skills common to all disciplines. They will also begin to hone their own research interests.

EDF 3912 RI: Multidisciplinary Research Methods 2

This course supports 51³Ô¹ÏÍø that already have a faculty research mentor as they navigate the undergraduate research process. This course is inclusive of multiple disciplines and methodologies, as opposed to a comprehensive survey, and will cover material that is both common to research in all disciplines and specific to the 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪ research interests. As a part of this course, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will have the opportunity to apply for research grants to fund their own research study.

EDF 3913 RI: Multidisciplinary Research Methods 3

This course supports 51³Ô¹ÏÍø that have a faculty research mentor as they navigate the undergraduate research process. This course is inclusive of multiple disciplines and methodologies, as opposed to a comprehensive survey, and will cover material that is both common to research in all disciplines and specific to the 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪ research interests. Students will learn how to find presentation/publication opportunities and develop their project into a research presentation for the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Undergraduate Research Symposium.

EDF 4930 Field Research in the Galapagos

This course provides 51³Ô¹ÏÍø an introduction to designing and implementing an observational, field-based research project from beginning to end, resulting in a research manuscript co-authored by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in the course.

Educational Measurement and Evaluation (EDF 3430) 3 credits

A basic course to train 51³Ô¹ÏÍø/teachers to integrate classroom assessment into instructional planning to improve student learning. Along with basic terminology, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø develop particular skills in writing instructional objectives, developing test items of various types, constructing rating scales and understanding the interpretation of standardized tests.
