International Agreements


51³Ô¹ÏÍø has several dozen active international agreements with universities and educational institutions around the world.Ìý Agreements create access for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and faculty to study, conduct research, or teach in other countries.Ìý Agreements also allow 51³Ô¹ÏÍø of our partners to take classes at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø or (in special circumstances) to enroll for degree seeking purposes.Ìý Other agreements provide for the exchange of services and technical training opportunities. ÌýÌýIn sum, many different types of projects can be included in international agreements to meet the parties’ unique needs and interests.

The Center for Global Engagement in conjunction with Education Abroad assists 51³Ô¹ÏÍø colleges and faculty in the design, creation, execution, and implementation of international agreements.Ìý ÌýAll agreements must advance a strategic academic goal of the sponsoring 51³Ô¹ÏÍø college, and be determined to be of value to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.Ìý ÌýAll agreements must adhere to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø policies in regard to academic credit, international and on-campus study, agreement financing, and the periodic balancing of exchanged activities.Ìý

Agreements must be created with the assistance and approval of all relevant 51³Ô¹ÏÍø college deans, the Center for Global Engagement, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Legal Affairs, and the Provost Office.Ìý ÌýAgreements can only be signed by the President or a member of the Board of Trustees, along with the college dean if college funds are being pledged to support activities specified in the agreement.Ìý ÌýOnce executed the relevant college(s) sponsoring the agreement will coordinate all academic aspects of the agreement, andÌýEducation AbroadÌýwill coordinate administrative aspects o exchange agreements including allocation of any available and applicable tuition waivers and the periodic balancing of exchange activity.
