**The College of Nursing has contractual agreements with a multitude of clinical facilities/institutions, and each of these institutions has its own policy regarding background checks, immunizations & drug testing.
I did a background check for my job 5 months ago. Can I reuse those prints/background check?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept background checks from other entities per the FDLE/FBI.泭
Will I need to repeat the background check, fingerprinting and drug screen while in the nursing program?
Yes, 51勛圖厙 are required to redo a Level II background check to include drug testing and fingerprinting yearly while in the clinical portion of the nursing program.
What should I do with the VECHS waiver?
Please download the form provided in the admission email, check the Volunteer Box, sign and enter your full address to include city/state/zip. Once completed, please email it to CONVECHS@health.fau.edu泭
By signing this Waiver Agreement, it is your intent to authorize the dissemination of any national criminal history record that may pertain to you to the CON with which you are seeking to be a volunteer, pursuant to the national Child Protection Act of 1993, as amended, and Section 943.0542, Florida Statutes.
Can I go to my nearest police station to get my fingerprints done?
No, you have to go to the location that American Databank/Complio sends you to, based on the zip code that you provided.
Can I do my Drug Test at my doctor's office or a nearby location?
No, you must go to a LabCorp location; the locations will be provided based on the zip code that you enter.
How will I know when my admission background check has been cleared?
When the results have been processed by the FDLE/FBI, they will be sent electronically to the school. We will then notify you by email of your status once we receive the results. 泭This can take up to 6-8 weeks. **Please note that if your background check comes back with any arrests or convictions regardless of the arrest/incident date, we will contact you for the court/adjudication records and a letter of explanation.
My fingerprints were rejected, is it something I did?
Often times, during the fingerprint process, the quality of the characteristics were too low to be used; therefore, the FBI has requested that you redo them.
My drug test came back positive, but I take prescribed medication?
Once we receive the drug test results, and it comes back positive for medication, we will email you requesting a copy of your prescription from your health care provider and a picture of your medication container with your name on it.泭
My Drug Test came back as Dilute Negative. Do I have to take it again?
Yes, a Dilute Negative test is unacceptable; you must order another drug test.
It means that the donor was exceptionally hydrated at the time of the test; and the urine, and everything else it contained, was diluted. Therefore, you will be required to redo the drug test. It is strongly recommended that you drink coffee, tea, juice rather than water on the day of the test.泭
I didnt take my Drug Test in the time given and now it's expired. Do I have to pay for another Drug Test?
Yes, you have to pay for the test again.
I am going in to clinical. Why am I being asked to redo my Level II background check?

to include fingerprinting and drug testing, yearly while in the clinical component of the program.
If my background has not expired, and it says, Complete do I still have to renew?
Yes, you have to do a yearly Level II background check泭
to include fingerprinting and drug testing.
If I miss the deadline for the drug test in Complio and need to reorder, can I be reimbursed or use it as a credit to cover the next test?
No, American Databank nor 51勛圖厙 will reimburse your payment or allow a credit.
If I am going to clinicals and I am assigned to a rotation through American Databank/Complio,how do I upload my documents to my rotation?
Follow the steps provided in the onboarding email.

What are the clinical requirements needed for my clinical site?
You will be notified via email of the requirements that are needed for the clinical site you are assigned to.
I cannot find my immunization card.
Please contact your health care provider for your records, or you can have titers drawn at a walk-in clinic or your health care providers office.泭

I cannot afford health insurance, what should I do?
It is mandatory that you have health insurance in order to attend clinical. The semester before you are to begin clinical, you must upload proof of your insurance card to your clinical tracker account. If you do need to purchase insurance, there are many companies offering coverage to 51勛圖厙.泭
