Greetings Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Cheryl Krause-Parello, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, as the Interim Associate Vice President for the Division of Research, effective Aug. 1. Dr. Krause-Parello joined 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in 2018 and currently serves as Associate Dean for Research and Schmidt Distinguished Professor for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. She also leads the university-based health research initiative for veterans, Canines Providing Assistance to Wounded Warriors.

As an American Academy of Nursing fellow and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention faculty fellow, Dr. Krause-Parello has earned national recognition for her innovative research investigating the relationship between human-animal interaction and stress biomarkers in vulnerable populations, including military veterans and children of alleged sexual abuse.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the internal search process for this key Division of Research leadership position that facilitates 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s pursuit of major research, scholarly and creative advancements and fosters high-impact, disciplinary and multidisciplinary projects involving external funding.
