About Us
The Department of Student Media provides 51³Ô¹ÏÍø a chance to gain real world experience in print journalism, television and radio broadcast production. Student media plays an integral role at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø by covering its wide range of events and programs. Led by professional advisors, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø involved in student media can acquire experience that cannot be found in a classroom. In addition to building resumes, student media offers a wide range of paid positions that allows 51³Ô¹ÏÍø to focus on their academics while also committing time to producing materials and building portfolios.

To utilize the Student Media outlets to create a larger sense of community at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and to provide Student Media participants with a rewarding and enriching experience that will contribute to thier future success.

The Department of Student Media provides learning opportunities in media that promote student participation and enrichment through the practice of newspaper, television and radio journalism.

From Frisco to Columbus to New York, and then back to Texas for the Final Four in Houston; 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Student Media was on hand for the unbelievable 2022-2023 run of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Men's Basketball Team. Throughout this historic season, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø from OWL Radio, TV and University Press joined forces to bring the most up to date and intimate coverage of the OWL's phenomenal season including all of the championship games. From one-on-one interviews with the players to unique fan and alumni reaction, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø student media traveled alongside the team to bring to life the unique stories of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø players, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, staff and alumni. The experiences in the air and on the ground are sure to last a lifetime for these 51³Ô¹ÏÍø whom we hope will be the premiere reporters and broadcasters of tomorrow. Kudos to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø men's basketball team and our student reporters and staff for their outstanding work.
