About the Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø is situated across three campuses –Boca Raton, Davie, Jupiter. The department includes 25 faculty members that serve undergraduates and graduate 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Key areas of research include Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive and Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology, and Social/Personality Psychology.
Undergraduates can earn a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology or a Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience & Behavior through a joint program with the Department of Biological Sciences. Together, the degree programs account for an undergraduate student body of over 2100 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. As well as taking courses, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø are encouraged to participate in research projects being conducted by our faculty. Many of our 51³Ô¹ÏÍø go on to careers in academia and the business sector.
Graduate 51³Ô¹ÏÍø can earn a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Experimental Psychology, and a Master of Arts degree in Psychology. There are currently 55 graduate 51³Ô¹ÏÍø enrolled in our programs. The graduate programs place a strong emphasis on research in addition to coursework, seminars, and professional development opportunities. Students in our programs have gone on to successful careers in both academia and industry.
Many faculty members are affiliated with the . Neuroscience represents a defining area of emphasis at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and the Department of Psychology faculty are actively involved with the , , and . Psychology faculty are also actively involved with the , offering unique research and training experiences. Many faculties have national and international collaborators, so there are many rich opportunities for student involvement!
